On April 21st, engineers Cheng Changhui and Wang Yike from the Meiling Power Supply Station of Nanchang Power Supply Company of State Grid commenced early-morning inspections of key electrical facilities throughout the Meiling tourist zone. This preventive maintenance aims to ensure a reliable power supply during the upcoming May Day travel peak.

At Leigang Village, nestled in the foothills of Meiling Mountain, characteristic homestays dot the landscape along waterways. Holding an infrared thermometer, State Grid engineers checked the distribution boxes, switches, and internal wiring in each household. "During the May Day period, tourist numbers surge, and the power load will rise sharply. We must eliminate hidden dangers in advance," Cheng explained. To address the aging of some residential lines, the power supply station has assisted in completing renovations and guided owners on the proper distribution of electricity load to avoid overload risks.

With the growing popularity of eco-friendly transportation, charging demand in the tourist area continues to rise. At Meiling’s parking lot, State Grid engineers are conducting full-load tests on charging piles to ensure stable operation during the holiday peak. "We’re accelerating upgrades, including the addition of 32 new fast-charging piles and optimization of the guidance system. The 'State Grid Online' app now allows real-time availability checks, significantly reducing wait times," said Gao Zhipeng, the manager of Meiling’s charging facility expansion project.

At present, a full inspection of power facilities at the Meiling tourist area has been completed. Emergency power generation vehicles and repair teams are on standby at any time, and power protection is being carried out to the highest standards to ensure that tourists can enjoy their visit and stay comfortably.(By Xiong Liangliang)
