On May 5, we welcome Start of Summer, one of the 24 Solar Terms. After this time, sunlight increases, temperatures gradually rise, and nature quietly embraces the early whispers of summer.

The "Beijing's Vibe of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Chinese Solar Terms", a short video series jointly produced by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and CRI Online, released its episode of "Start of Summer". Spotlighting two iconic intangible cultural heritage items of Beijing, namely the Craftsmanship of Yang's Brine Tofu and the Craftsmanship of Beijing-Style Auspicious Shayan Kites, the episode showcases how the inheritors of the two intangible cultural heritage items present the perfect fusion of ancient Chinese culture and natural rhythms through, respectively, the culinary wisdom rooted in seasonal practices, and the new life of kite-making techniques.
