Nanyang, Henan: Secure Power Grid Supports Nighttime Economic Growth

Recently, at Sanlian Road Food Street in Zhenping County, personnel from the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company conducted electrical safety inspections for night market vendors and nearby businesses. As part of a comprehensive safety improvement campaign, they provided safety education and assisted with on-site hazard corrections.

Since 2025, State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has extended its safety initiatives to the consumer side, launching a targeted hazard remediation program in Zhenping County. Ahead of the summer peak electricity period, the company is carrying out thorough inspections across its service area to eliminate potential electrical safety risks.

To meet the unique power demands of summer night markets, the company has mapped night market sites and their supporting electrical infrastructure in both urban and rural areas, assigning clear service responsibilities. Routine inspections help identify and resolve safety issues promptly. Technicians correct problems such as improper wiring, aging cables, and damaged insulation on-site to prevent power-related accidents.

“Summer night markets require extremely reliable power due to large crowds. The staff from the power supply station inspect the area almost daily and solve problems immediately. They respond to service calls right away—their support has been outstanding,” said Wu Qiang, a barbecue vendor at Sanlian Road Food Street on Nieyang Street.

Looking ahead, the company will continue strengthening consumer-side safety inspections to ensure a stable and secure power supply, supporting the vibrant growth of local nighttime economies.
