Quzhou, Zhejiang: Fortifying Power Safety Defenses Ahead of Summer Peak Demand

To ensure safe and stable power supply during peak summer demand and enhance reliability in key industrial parks, State Grid Quzhou Power Supply Company carried out a comprehensive overhaul and protection system upgrade at the 110-kV Huibu Substation from May 6 to May 24. The project included a full inspection and technical enhancement of the substation's equipment, providing strong momentum for the high-quality development of the Huibu Industrial Park.

Huibu Industrial Park, located in Changshan County, Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is a core part of the Changshan Economic Development Zone. In recent years, the park has shown strong growth momentum, evolving into a distinct and dynamic industrial cluster.

As summer approaches and power loads continue to climb, improving the intrinsic safety of substation equipment has become an urgent priority. This project served as a comprehensive inspection and upgrade of the Huibu Substation to prepare for the upcoming peak season. The company planned proactively, established a dedicated task force, and developed a detailed overhaul plan. Tasks included equipment condition assessments, identification and rectification of potential hazards, and technical system upgrades to ensure all equipment is ready for increased summer power demand.

During the overhaul, staff performed infrared temperature checks, oil chromatographic analysis, and preventive tests on key components such as main transformers, circuit breakers, and disconnect switches—accurately identifying and eliminating hidden risks. In parallel, intelligent upgrades were carried out on outdated relay protection devices, significantly improving fault response efficiency, reducing the risk of equipment failure, and bolstering the overall safety of core assets.
