On May 22, staff from State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company carried out dual-vehicle coordinated live-line operations in Chaoyang Village, Linping District, Hangzhou City, successfully completing the replacement of a vacuum switch. Through the synchronized collaboration of two live-line operation vehicles, this activity achieved zero power outages during line equipment upgrades, providing a solid guarantee for stable power supply to enterprises and residents in nearby industrial parks, while also improving grid automation levels.
Traditionally, splicing operations usually require planned outages, which not only disrupt the normal production and daily life of enterprises and residents but may also pose safety risks. To ensure uninterrupted power supply in the area, after multiple assessments and on-site inspections, State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company proposed a dual-vehicle live-line operation plan. Compared with single-vehicle operations, dual-vehicle, dual-circuit live-line operations are more complex, risky, and technically demanding.

The intelligent switch installed during this operation features remote monitoring and automatic fault isolation capabilities, significantly reducing the time required to address line faults. “After the upgrade, grid automation coverage has reached 100%, and fault location times have been greatly shortened,” said Wu Shixing, the on-site work supervisor.
“Conducting operations without power outages whenever possible” is a principle that State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company has consistently followed. Moving forward, the company will continue to promote live-line operations, improving grid reliability while reducing the duration and scope of outages—achieving “zero perception” among customers during maintenance and “zero impact” on power usage. These efforts aim to enhance customers’ sense of power accessibility, especially during the peak summer season.
