The Xuefeng Mountain High-Speed Rail Sightseeing Cableway is currently China’s longest sightseeing cableway, connecting Xupu South Station on the Shanghai–Kunming High-Speed Railway with the Beidou Peak Scenic Area of Huxing Mountain in Longhui County, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province. It is reported that the cableway is expected to officially open in July 2025, reducing the original one-way mountain road journey of approximately 2 to 3 hours to just 23 minutes, with a capacity of 1,200 passengers per hour.
The Xuefeng Mountain cableway project starts at Xupu South Station at an altitude of 280 meters, passes through Beidouxi Town and Gezhuping Town, and finally arrives at Yanziyan in Shanbei Village at an altitude of more than 1,400 meters. The total length of the cableway is 7.6 kilometers, with a vertical height difference of 1,157.63 meters.
The cableway features three stations—lower, middle, and upper—along the route, linking scenic attractions such as the Huayao Terraced Fields and the Huxing Mountain Scenic Area. The upper station, located in the Beidou Peak area of Huxing Mountain in Longhui County, is planned to be Hunan Province’s first mountain sports park. It will offer experiences such as skiing, forest recreation, and summit views, aiming to develop a four-season resort featuring spring blossoms, summer escapes, autumn foliage, and winter skiing.
