On the morning of June 12, the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) opened at the Changsha International Conference Center in Hunan Province.

Under the theme of "China and Africa: Together Toward Modernization", this year’s Expo will run for four days. The main venue features six pavilions and one zone, covering a total exhibition area of 100,000 square meters. A total of 26 African countries and 23 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities have set up display booths. Additionally, a sub-exhibition hall has been set up at Hunan Gaoqiao Grand Market, based on the CAETE’s permanent exhibition space, and a Construction Machinery Remanufacturing Sub-Exhibition will take place at the Central China (Xiangtan) International Machinery Park.

The Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, and Nigeria have been designated as the Guest Countries of Honor, while Hubei Province and Chongqing Municipality serve as the Guest Provinces (Cities) of Honor.

During the Expo, 30 economic and trade activities will be held to implement the China-Africa Ten Partnership Action Plans. These cover a wide range of cooperation areas, including industrial chain collaboration, green mineral development, infrastructure, traditional medicine, cultural industries and trade, as well as youth innovation and entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, six special events — including the China-Africa Private Economy Forum and China-Africa Film Week — will also be held. Five Chinese provinces and municipalities such as Hubei and Chongqing, and nine African countries including Rwanda and Angola, will organize dedicated economic and trade promotion and matchmaking activities.

The Fourth CAETE is one of the year’s most significant events for economic and trade exchanges between China and African countries. So far, 279 cooperative projects have been collected from both sides, marking a 43.8% increase compared to the previous edition. During the Expo, 175 cooperation agreements are expected to be signed, with a total value of USD 11.39 billion.

More than 30,000 participants — including representatives from 53 African countries, 11 international organizations, 27 Chinese provinces and municipalities, and over 4,700 Chinese and African enterprises, business associations, and financial institutions — have registered to attend.

From June 13 to 15, the Expo will open to the public. Visitors can enjoy free entry by showing their ID cards, with no prior appointment required.
