On July 15, 2025, the International Exchange Week themed “China’s Development: An Opportunity for a Colorful World” officially kicked off in Zunyi City, Guizhou Province. Over 200 participants—including diplomats from more than 30 countries, Chinese and international experts and scholars, foreign social media influencers, young students, and business representatives—gathered to share stories of the globalization of characteristic Chinese industries, with Guizhou as a key example. They explored China’s development opportunities and jointly opened a new chapter of cooperation.

The week-long event features a launch ceremony, the “Quality Chinese Products, Shared by the World” Zunyi Dialogue, field visits, and other sessions. Using Guizhou as a case study, the event aims to showcase the dynamic practices of inland China’s opening-up, demonstrate the shared benefits of the Belt and Road Initiative, highlight the vitality of China’s development, and offer a Chinese blueprint for building a more colorful world together.

In recent years, Guizhou has focused on promoting high-quality development through high-level opening-up. It is accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system with distinctive local characteristics and a strategic role in China’s national industrial framework. The province actively participates in building the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in western China, speeds up the development of national-level platforms for openness and innovation, and continues to optimize its business environment—achieving new milestones as a highland for inland openness.

The International Exchange Week, held in Zunyi for three consecutive years, has become an important platform to showcase Guizhou’s economic and social progress and its long-term commitment to high-level opening-up. Riding the momentum of this event, Zunyi has actively integrated into the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthened exchanges with Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries, and driven further growth in the export of distinctive local products.
