“No external debris hazards, internal equipment is well-protected from moisture, and cable trenches are free of standing water.” On August 14, this was the report from a team dispatched by the State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company during a special flood season inspection at the 35 kV Jixiang Substation in Sui County. The team carried out a thorough examination of the station’s flood control facilities, ensuring all preventive measures were meticulously implemented to guarantee the safe operation of equipment.
In recent days, the Shangqiu region has experienced continuous thunderstorms and strong winds. To ensure a normal and reliable power supply for its customers, State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company is closely monitoring the developments of heavy rain and severe convective weather. The company has prioritized its flood season response as a core component of grid safety, refining protocols and strengthening management. Operations and maintenance teams have been organized to conduct special patrols and protective reinforcements at substations, inspecting measures for seepage and flood prevention. Concurrently, staff from local power supply stations and line maintenance crews have been mobilized to carry out targeted inspections of high- and low-voltage power lines. These patrols are intensified for electrical infrastructure in low-lying areas, along riverbanks, and in sites susceptible to erosion from heavy rainfall, allowing for prompt reinforcement and defect elimination.
Furthermore, the company is utilizing a combination of drone and foot patrol methods to enhance the efficiency of localized line inspections. Any potential hazards discovered are immediately addressed and resolved. Through these comprehensive efforts, State Grid Shangqiu is fully committed to safeguarding the security of the power grid and ensuring a reliable power supply for the daily life and work of the local community.
