As the back-to-school season approaches, staff from the State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company visited Fangshan Town No. 3 Middle School in Yuzhou, Xuchang, Henan Province, to conduct a comprehensive inspection of power lines and distribution equipment on and around the campus. Their goal: to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards in advance, ensuring safe and reliable electricity use for the new semester.
Though classes had yet to begin, the company acted proactively—developing a detailed inspection plan for schools across its service area and implementing a “one school, one policy” service mechanism with clear responsibilities assigned to individual staff. Technicians used infrared thermography to monitor distribution boxes and low-voltage lines, checked voltage stability, and carried out thorough inspections of wiring, switches, lighting, and circuit breakers in classrooms, dormitories, and canteens. They also reorganized distribution lines and performed on-site repairs or replacements for issues such as aging insulation and faulty sockets.
In addition, staff met with school administrators to understand their upcoming electricity needs, collected feedback on existing power services, and distributed safety brochures. They provided guidance on developing tailored power-use plans and reinforced awareness of safe electricity practices.
The State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company has long placed a strong emphasis on campus electricity safety. Once the semester begins, the company will continue regular inspections and maintenance of school power facilities, further strengthening the foundation for safe electricity use and creating a secure learning environment.
