Xuchang, Henan: Routine Inspections Ensure Smooth Charging for New Energy Vehicles

Recently, staff from the State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company conducted routine inspections at the charging station in the Guodian Service Area of the Yancheng–Luoyang Expressway. Their aim was to promptly eliminate potential hazards that could affect the safe operation of the charging piles, ensuring that the charging needs of new energy vehicle owners are reliably met.

With the current pleasant weather creating ideal conditions for travel, the usage rate of new energy vehicle charging piles has surged significantly. To support the public’s green travel initiatives, the State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company has launched a comprehensive inspection of public and shared charging piles within its area. Focus has been placed on the operational status of the charging equipment, positioning accuracy, infrastructure conditions, and the clarity of operation guidelines, all to guarantee normal and safe usage.

During the inspections, the staff used infrared thermometers to measure the temperature of power supply equipment such as transformers and the distribution room at the stations, preventing overheating risks. Additionally, they checked whether the indicator lights of the charging piles were functioning properly, verified proper grounding of external casings, inspected for loose wiring, and listened for abnormal noises from internal components such as relays. Special attention was paid to potential cable wear on charging connectors, the operational status of rear exhaust fans, and whether the current and voltage outputs of each charging module remained within normal parameters. Any identified issues were promptly addressed to maintain charging efficiency and ensure a seamless customer experience.

In addition, service contact labels were posted at each charging pile, enabling customers to quickly reach support personnel in case of malfunctions. This measure aims to enhance overall user satisfaction and convenience during the charging process.
