On September 19, at the construction site of the Cuibaili Sports Eco-Center on the west side of Ningbo South Railway Station, staff from State Grid Ningbo Power Supply Company completed the installation of a transformer, accelerating the development of the super charging station. Integrating photovoltaics, energy storage, high-power charging stations, battery-swapping facilities, and a source-grid-load-storage microgrid interaction platform, the station is scheduled for completion by the end of October.

The Cuibaili Sports Eco-Center Super Charging Station in Ningbo, Zhejiang, is equipped with three ultra-fast charging systems, including the province’s first single-unit megawatt-level charger. The station features 600 kW liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging guns and 250 kW high-power charging guns, serving a total of 68 parking spaces.
Integrating photovoltaics, energy storage, charging stations, V2G, and battery-swapping functions, the station leverages a vehicle-to-grid big data platform and microgrid intelligent control to achieve peak shaving and valley filling, enhance energy efficiency, balance grid load, and reduce operating costs. Supported by solar carports and energy storage systems, it significantly lowers peak charging prices to near off-peak levels, creating a dual-benefit scenario of “low-carbon charging + economic affordability.”
The station will also include a container-style “Driver’s Home” offering dining and rest facilities, as well as an e-bike charging hub to serve the surrounding community.
This project further explores the application of microgrids in the new energy vehicle sector. By analyzing load regulation strategies, it provides a replicable "Ningbo Model" for large-scale load interaction scenarios involving new energy vehicles.
By the end of August, Ningbo had over 48,000 public charging stations, and with improving consumer experiences, charging infrastructure and new energy vehicles are fostering a mutually reinforcing growth pattern, accelerating the formation of a comprehensive new energy ecosystem.
