On the afternoon of November 24, international hosts and influencers participating in the 2025 "China Travel · Roam China"—International Hosts and Influencers Decode Vibrant Nansha event had an immersive experience with Pony.ai's autonomous driving mobility service. Amid the fusion of technology and daily life, they felt the innovative vitality and open charm of Nansha's intelligent transportation.
Pony.ai's autonomous driving service, known for its convenience and intelligence, left the international hosts and influencers amazed. The fully driverless mobility mode, requiring no manual intervention, challenged their perceptions of transportation.
"This is my first time experiencing autonomous driving. I had only seen it in videos before. Sitting in it for real, I realized this is the future of mobility!" said Lao Bai, a Nigerian influencer, as he raised his phone to record the vehicle's smooth ride. "Having such a car would be incredibly convenient. I believe it won't be long before this technology becomes part of people's lives."
Zhang Hao, a Bangladeshi Gen Z youth, shared his experience from anxiety to reassurance: "I was worried about safety before getting in, so I intentionally filmed the entire process of the vehicle accelerating, decelerating, and braking. But during the ride, I found that autonomous driving is more stable and rule-abiding than manual driving. There's no sudden acceleration or deceleration. The precise application of AI technology makes you feel very secure. Traffic congestion is a major issue in Bangladesh. If this technology could be introduced, I believe it would significantly improve local mobility."
Vietnamese influencer Nguyen Thi Thanh Thanh admitted she initially felt nervous about the "driverless" setting, but the vehicle's excellent performance quickly put her at ease: "The traffic was complex, yet it could quickly identify surrounding vehicles and respond with remarkable agility. The whole journey was safe and comfortable. These high-tech innovations are no longer distant concepts—they are tools truly integrated into daily life, bringing real convenience. I sincerely hope China and Vietnam can deepen cooperation in such innovative technologies so that people in Vietnam can also enjoy intelligent mobility services."
Lai Yaming, a host from the German Service of China Media Group (CMG), offered insights from the perspective of international cooperation: "Germany's automotive industry started early and has deep technological accumulation, while China has advanced rapidly in AI and digitalization, reaching the forefront globally. Autonomous driving is a perfect area for complementing each other’s strengths. Although many Germans enjoy driving and may need time to fully accept autonomous vehicles, once the technology becomes mature enough, it will undoubtedly be the future trend. Cooperation between China and Germany could open up broader development prospects."
This autonomous driving experience is a vivid demonstration of how Nansha leverages its "international connectivity" to tell the story of Chinese-style modernization. Through an international perspective and integrated media communication, the event enabled global audiences to directly witness the real-world applications of China's autonomous driving technology and Nansha's achievements in integrating technological innovation with public services. As intelligent transportation scenarios continue to expand, Nansha is using technology as a bridge, linking innovative development with a better quality of life, injecting sustained momentum into the high-quality growth of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and establishing a broader platform for international scientific and cultural exchanges.
