Nanyang, Henan: Tailored Power Supply Solutions Help Umbrella Industry Meet Winter Production Needs

In recent years, Yaodian Town in Dengzhou City has leveraged local advantages to build a thriving umbrella industry, now known as the “Umbrella Town of Central China.” Its products are sold to over ten countries, with an annual output value of nearly 500 million yuan.
The State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company maintains dynamic records tailored to each enterprise based on production plans, order details, and power load, and creates customized power supply plans accordingly. Precise inspections of key components are carried out in workshops using infrared thermometers, with a focus on connections such as distribution cabinet terminals. They also examine power supply lines for production equipment to detect risks such as insulation aging, and provide on-site guidance on winter electricity usage precautions and daily equipment inspection procedures to ensure safety. By planning ahead and reserving capacity for future needs, the Company ensured that 16 large factories and 30 village-level workshops could connect to the grid as soon as they were completed.
To address the winter peak demand, the Company increased grid inspection frequency through its distribution operation and maintenance teams. It employed smart tools such as drones and laser obstacle removers to identify and eliminate defects, ensuring stable power supply. Dedicated staff also visited enterprises to guide them in using the “State Grid Online” app for electricity services and efficiency analysis. Based on time-of-use pricing policies, they offered recommendations to optimize production schedules to help businesses improve quality and efficiency.
