State Grid Liaoyang Power Supply Company Implements Comprehensive Measures to Prevent Spring Wildfires

On March 20, the transmission inspection team from the State Grid Liaoyang Power Supply Company used drones and imaging equipment to comprehensively inspect transmission lines running through forested mountain areas on the outskirts of Liaoyang, ensuring wildfire risks can be identified and addressed promptly.

The current season marks a critical period for wildfire prevention, with fires more likely to occur. The Company has taken proactive measures, organizing professional teams to carry out thorough inspections of transmission and distribution corridors in forested and densely vegetated areas. Special attention is given to potential ignition sources such as nearby sacrificial sites and straw or crop-residue piles, ensuring full coverage and effective risk control.

Alongside traditional manual inspections, the Company has vigorously promoted technology-enabled grid protection and built an integrated intelligent monitoring network spanning satellite, aerial, and ground platforms. The wide use of advanced technologies, such as autonomous drone inspections, visual monitoring of channels, infrared thermography, and satellite remote sensing, has strengthened the inspection teams' capacity for early wildfire detection and timely warning.

To improve emergency response effectiveness, State Grid Liaoyang Power Supply Company has established a three-dimensional prevention-and-control system built on professional expertise, advanced technologies, physical devices, and public participation. By combining manual patrols with drone inspections, the system provides full coverage of key areas while the monitoring center maintains 24/7 surveillance of potential fire points. The Company has also established an efficient information sharing and emergency linkage mechanism with local governments, emergency, fire, forestry, and other departments, and local line protection volunteers. Party member service groups and young volunteers are organized to carry out outreach in village and town communities to publicize power facility protection and fire safety. These measures form a robust, community‑wide protection network supported by broad participation and coordinated actions to ensure grid safety.
