Longhua, Shenzhen: Role Models Ignite a Citywide Passion for Reading

On the morning of April 19, the launch ceremony of the 2026 Longhua District Reading Week, themed "Reading Moves Longhua · A City of Books," was held at Shenzhen Book City Longhua City. At the event, ten "Longhua District Model Reading Promotion Projects" were announced and honored, setting examples to encourage deeper public participation in reading and fostering a reading culture that reaches every corner of the district.

The model projects cover a wide range of fields including reading brands, cultural spaces, educational initiatives, and community‑level practices. They include: Longhua Knowledge‑Filled New Year's Eve, "Conversations with Masters" Lecture Series, Longhua City Study Rooms, Longhua Poetry Competition, "3D Reading" Program, Longhua Sisters Storytelling Club, "Insight Tonight" Talk Show, "Reading Poetry for You Tonight" Recital, "Readers' Night" Sharing Session, and the "Story Moms" Volunteer Project. Together, these projects build a multi‑layered, widely accessible reading ecosystem, continuously enriching the spiritual and cultural life of local residents.
