AI Badges, 3D-Printed Lanterns: Diplomats Get a Glimpse of Young China's Digital Creativity in Huangshan

       CRI Online: "What does this AI badge actually do?" "Are the fish bones on that fish lantern really 3D-printed?" On August 7, diplomats based in China — representing Ethiopia, Latvia, Botswana, Guinea, the Dominican Republic, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam — visited the DN Huangshan Digital Nomad Community, where they found themselves drawn in by a series of tech-driven creations from young Chinese innovators.

　　Inside the DN Huangshan Digital Nomad Community, a small badge and an intricately crafted Huizhou fish lantern serve as windows into the creativity of China's youth. The AI badge draws on artificial intelligence to explore new ways of managing digital information, while the 3D-printed Huizhou fish lantern fuses traditional cultural elements with modern technology, breathing new life into an age-old folk craft.

　　H.E. Prof. Lekoko S. Kenosi, Ambassador of Botswana to China, showed particular interest in the AI badge. "It introduces a whole new method of archiving," he said. "As a former professor of archival science myself, I find this start-up's approach to digital archiving genuinely creative."

　　The term "digital nomad" refers to people who, thanks to the internet and digital technology, are no longer tied to a fixed workplace and can live and work from different locations. The DN Huangshan Digital Nomad Community was purpose-built as an innovation space for young creators, entrepreneurs, and remote workers, allowing them to run their businesses, exchange ideas, and collaborate, while also drawing inspiration from the mountains and rivers of Huangshan and experiencing the charm of Huizhou culture firsthand.
