Xiaogan, Hubei Efficiently Advances the 500 kV Transmission Line Rerouting Project

Recently, to cope with the impact of typhoons on the construction schedule, at the site of the 500 kV transmission line rerouting project in Xiaochang County, Xiaogan, Hubei, construction workers from State Grid Hubei Power Transmission and Transformation Co., Ltd. made full use of cooler periods such as early morning and dusk before the typhoon arrived, avoiding the hottest midday hours and staggering construction schedules to efficiently advance the project.

As soon as the morning light filled the field ridges, workers had climbed up the iron towers dozens of meters high, assembling precisely and meticulously. Sun exposure dyed the work clothes, and layers of salt stains from sweat covered their backs, which is the truest mark of the hot summer. Currently, the project has completed the erection of 39 iron towers, accounting for 32.2% of the total, and is expected to be completed and put into operation in June 2027.

After the project is put into operation, it will significantly improve the power supply reliability of the Xiaogan power grid, add about 500,000 kW of new energy transmission capacity, meet the summer peak electricity demand of about 300,000 households in Xiaogan City, and provide strong support for the consumption of clean energy in northern Hubei.
