'Intangible' Romance of Qixi Festival: Discover Beauty of Ancient Architecture and Artistry of Filigree Inlay

The Qixi Festival is one of China's most romantic traditional festivals. On this very day, several folk customs of praying for dexterous, skillful hands (known as "Qiqiao") and good fortune help to build the romance.

The "Amazing ICH in Splendid Seasons of Beijing" short video series, jointly produced by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and CRI Online, launched its second episode "'Intangible' Romance of Qixi Festival" today. This time, two guests from afar got to learn about the national intangible cultural heritage craft of filigree inlay. Inside a century‑old courtyard, they discovered the beauty of Chinese aesthetics where traditional festival customs meet the elegance of historic architecture.
