On September 16, staff members from the Baixiang Central Power Supply Station of State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company visited Junchao Family Farm in Fubei Village, Baixiang Town, Jiaozuo. They inspected electrical equipment used for cold storage and irrigation for potential safety hazards and carefully inquired about the farm’s recent electricity needs.
As a representative of the local specialty crop farming sector, Junchao Family Farm grows a variety of specialty fruits and vegetables, including fruit-type trellised wax gourds, No. 7 long chili peppers and Yanshu 25 sweet potatoes. Its products are sold in supermarkets in major cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, encouraging more than a dozen nearby farming households to grow the crops and increase their incomes. As the business continues to expand, so does its reliance on electricity. A stable power supply is essential to every stage, from irrigation and sorting to refrigeration and preservation.

To ensure a reliable electricity supply for specialty crop farming, State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company organized its power supply stations to conduct comprehensive inspections of power lines and distribution equipment serving agricultural operations, as well as drying equipment and cold storage facilities, throughout their service areas. They checked the power lines for safety hazards and addressed any problems found on the spot. Staff members also increased the frequency of inspections of electrical equipment in the fields to eliminate potential hazards before peak electricity demand during the autumn harvest.
Meanwhile, the company keeps its 24-hour repair hotline operational, with repair personnel and vehicles on standby around the clock to ensure that farmers’ electricity problems are addressed promptly.
Going forward, the company will continue to monitor the progress of the autumn harvest and the electricity needs arising from the development of specialty agricultural industries. It will provide a reliable power supply to support increases in agricultural output and farmers’ incomes. (Story by Li Yinan)
