Henan Kaifeng: Autumn Grid Inspections Safeguard Electricity Safety for the Autumn Harvest

"During the autumn harvest, electricity demand is high, and power lines and equipment are prone to problems. By eliminating potential hazards in advance, we can make electricity use safer and more reliable for everyone!" On September 17, staff members from the Western District Power Supply Center of State Grid Kaifeng Power Supply Company went deep into Shuidiao Township. While inspecting surrounding power facilities, they explained autumn electricity safety precautions to farmers, safeguarding electricity use for the autumn harvest through proactive services.

In the golden autumn season, electricity demand for farmland irrigation and drainage, grain processing, and residents’ daily life continues to rise. As autumn arrives, power grid equipment enters a seasonal transition period. Risks from tree obstructions, equipment aging, load fluctuations, and non-standard agricultural electricity use increase simultaneously. To build a solid defense for autumn electricity safety, support autumn harvest production, and ensure reliable power supply for the public, staff members of State Grid Kaifeng Power Supply Company took the initiative to visit villages, residential courtyards, and farmland, carrying out a series of power supply services, including line inspections, hazard remediation, door-to-door visits, and safety awareness campaigns.

Patrol personnel focused on clearing overgrown branches and weeds within line corridors, and carefully checked for subtle defects such as aging lines, damaged sheaths, and loose components. They kept a close watch on old transformer areas and densely populated residential areas, monitored real-time changes in equipment loads, and conducted advance risk assessments. Closed-loop management was implemented for all identified potential hazards to ensure the stable operation of the power grid through the seasonal transition.

Staff members also went into villages to distribute electricity service cards to households, and posted grid service contact numbers on village public notice boards and in residential hallways, helping keep channels open for residents to report faults and make inquiries.
