Jiangsu Wuxi: "Open-Door Power Connection" Helps Biopharmaceutical Park Speed Up

On the shores of Lake Tai, the life and health industry is gathering pace and becoming a new growth pole for Wuxi's economy. On September 18, power supply was completed for the Wuxi Mashan Biopharmaceutical Industrial Park. State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company, through its "Open-Door Power Connection" service model, moved power supply services ahead of enterprises' move-in, helping the park accelerate development.

Biopharmaceutical enterprises settle quickly and have urgent power connection needs, making the traditional supply model—in which enterprises have to apply for power themselves—hard to keep up with. State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company proactively moved its service forward and completed external power supply facilities in advance, so enterprises can connect to power as soon as they move in. The core area of Wuxi Mashan Biopharmaceutical Industrial Park has a planned area of 2.13 square kilometers and has built 240,000 square meters of science and technology innovation facilities, attracting more than 220 life and health enterprises.

In response to the park's demand for highly reliable power, the company customized a dual-power supply plan: a main power source with a capacity of 5,000 kVA, equipped with four 1,250 kVA transformers; and a backup power source with a capacity of 2,500 kVA. The dual-circuit supply reduces the risk of power interruptions.

Since the construction of the "Open-Door Power Connection" demonstration zone in 2024, the company has built a total of 69 kilometers of external power lines and 52 ring main units.

A person in charge of State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company said that the measure has shortened the power connection time for park enterprises by about six months, saved a total of 3.5 million yuan in investment, and served more than 40 high-voltage users.
