Electricity Consumption at Qingyang “East Data, West Computing” Industrial Park Rises 122.12% Year on Year

Since the beginning of 2026, Qingyang’s electricity market has continued to expand, with an improving consumption structure and steady growth in total electricity consumption. State Grid Qingyang Power Supply Company has taken targeted measures and provided proactive services to support the region’s computing industry and overall economic development.

Qingyang “East Data, West Computing” Industrial Park

As of the end of August, electricity consumption in the primary and secondary industries and among residential users had risen steadily. The tertiary industry consumed 1.771 billion kWh of electricity, up 22.25% year on year—the fastest growth among the three industries. Qingyang “East Data, West Computing” Industrial Park has become a key driver of this growth.

As a major hub for the local digital economy, the park recorded particularly strong growth in electricity consumption. By the end of August, its electricity consumption had reached 317 million kWh, up 122.12% year on year. Both the increase in consumption and the growth rate ranked among the highest for the city’s key industrial parks.

Park staff inspect facilities

The concentration of enterprises in the park continues to grow. Projects involving China Mobile, Energy China and Chindata Group have entered operation, while computing projects involving China Telecom, Zhichuang Blueprint and Supercomputing Technology are under accelerated construction and expected to begin operation soon. Mingyang Group’s gigawatt-scale project integrating electricity generation and computing has been established in the park. Drawing on local wind and solar resources, it aims to demonstrate the integration of green electricity and computing power and support greener, more advanced industrial development.

As server racks are put into use in batches and more projects begin operation, the park’s electricity demand is expected to continue growing. Estimates suggest its electricity consumption could exceed 580 million kWh by the end of 2026. State Grid Qingyang Power Supply Company will improve grid infrastructure, enhance power supply services and meet the electricity needs of the computing industry. It will also support the integration of renewable energy and the digital economy, providing reliable electricity for Qingyang’s economic development.
