2026 National Food Safety Awareness Week: Jiangxi Main Venue Event Kicks Off in Ji’an

Recently, the launch ceremony of the Jiangxi main venue event for the 2026 National Food Safety Awareness Week was held in Ji'an. The event was themed "Upholding Morality and Abiding by the Law, Jointly Safeguarding Food Safety". Wang Haitao, Deputy Secretary-General of the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government, attended and jointly launched the event. Ling Wei, Director of the Office of the Jiangxi Provincial Food and Drug Safety Commission, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, and Zhou Mi, Vice Mayor of Ji'an City, delivered remarks.

Ling Wei emphasized that food producers and operators must uphold morality, abide by the law, and operate with integrity, integrating integrity throughout the entire process. He called for strengthening control at the source, tightening process management, and strictly controlling risks to build a full-chain food safety governance system. He also urged efforts to make good use of and further improve the "Ganpo Food Safety Collaboration Platform", deepen Party building joint efforts, and promote social co-governance.

The launch ceremony featured live connections to three sub-venues in Jinggangshan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jizhou District, and Luling New Area of Ji'an. It released the list of winners for the public service short video and poster call for submissions on "Advocating Civilized Dining and Curbing Food Waste". It presented letters of appointment to "Food Safety Riders/Social Supervisors", and representatives of online catering platforms and food enterprises jointly read out the Commitment to Honest and Compliant Business Operations.

During the campaign, Jiangxi will also hold a series of activities, including food safety skills competitions and food safety knowledge lectures, encouraging all sectors of society to work together to safeguard food safety. (By Wu Jianan)
