Smart Manufacturing for Open Cooperation — 2026 World Manufacturing Convention Concludes in Hefei

From September 20 to 23, the 2026 World Manufacturing Convention, themed “Manufacturing the World, Creating a Better Future,” was held in Hefei, showcasing the achievements of Anhui’s advanced manufacturing sector and opening-up efforts.

Boasting enhanced international engagement, the Convention drew participants from 54 countries and regions. The United Kingdom served as the Guest Country of Honor, and the President of Côte d’Ivoire sent a congratulatory message. Foreign guests accounted for more than 50% of key attendees. Thanks to cross-border economic and trade matchmaking, 24 foreign-invested projects were signed, with a total investment of 11.2 billion yuan. Twenty projects were signed at the Anhui-Hong Kong-Macao Industrial Matchmaking Session, representing 11.46 billion yuan in investment. Delegations from 28 provincial-level regions, together with the Hong Kong and Macao SARs, took part in the event, with participating enterprises covering all provincial-level regions in China.

On the exhibition front, 1,230 enterprises displayed over 15,000 exhibits, including 217 cutting-edge sci-tech achievements. An innovative chain-based exhibition layout was adopted, and interactive activities such as humanoid-robot performances were well received. The exhibition received 74,000 in-person visitors and 4.54 million online visits, with more than 5,900 on-site transactions totaling more than 600 million yuan. Altogether, 27 industrial matchmaking sessions were convened, with 87 cooperation agreements and memoranda signed. A total of 790 projects were signed at the Convention, with a total investment of 363.4 billion yuan.

Online exposure of Convention-related content exceeded 18.8 billion views. Multilingual promotional materials were displayed on the big screen in Times Square, New York. Anhui will continue to leverage the spillover effects of the Convention, seize opportunities for intelligent, green and integrated transformation, contribute to building China into a manufacturing powerhouse, and promote mutually beneficial development in global manufacturing.
