Silky, sweet frozen persimmons, along with cherries transformed into juices, dried fruit, and fruit wine—at the 33rd China Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Fair, specialty agricultural products from Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, not only drew crowds of eager tasters, but also opened doors to new business partnerships.
The fair opened on October 25 in Yangling, Shaanxi. Weinan organized 57 agribusinesses and agricultural cooperatives to showcase more than 150 specialty products, highlighting local advances in deep processing, value-added product development, and improved-variety breeding.

"I've had Fuping dried persimmons before, but this is my first time trying frozen persimmons," said buyer Liang Xun, praising their melt-in-the-mouth texture and sweetness. Fuping County has diversified its persimmon offerings through creative processing, while Chengcheng County showcased cherry juices, dried fruit, and fruit wines—expanding the use of local fruits beyond fresh consumption. Meanwhile, Huayin City focused on showcasing premium wheat varieties, aiming to expand their adoption across northwestern China.

Innovative products also captured the attention of commercial purchasers. An instant, portable tea that brews with just hot water piqued the interest of a buyer unfamiliar with the product. Impressed by the demonstration, he expressed procurement intent and exchanged contact details with the exhibitor for further discussions.

From quality seed promotion to deep processing, and from on-site tastings to trade negotiations, Weinan demonstrated the dynamic evolution of its specialty agriculture through tangible products. By leveraging the Yangling Fair, the city continues to spotlight its agricultural strengths, gauge market trends, and explore new partnership opportunities.
