Jiangxia, Wuhan: The Construction of The Top-notch Athletes Village will be Finished in April, 2019

On October 30, the executive committee of Wuhan Military Commission held press conference in Wuhan Conference Center. The committee officially announced that the work of the Athletes Village was currently in its phase-out period and the preparation of management would be started with the building of amenities. It also reported that the construction of the Athletes Village would be finished in April, 2019.

Throughout the history of the Conseil International du Sport Militaire(CISM), it was the first time for Wuhan to build the Athletes Village for the Conseil International du Sport Militaire(CISM) Military World Games. The Athletes Village, the home for all athletes from countries and officers of delegations, can accommodate nearly 10,000 people, which requires great efforts given in management and operation works.

In order to get well prepared for those works in the Athletes Village, the executive committee of Wuhan Military Commission has established a village committee and proposed Yang Jian, director of the executive committee of Wuhan Military Commission and Zhou Xianwang, mayor of Wuhan as the village chief, Jia Shijiang, secretary general of the executive committee of Wuhan Military Commission and Xu Honglan, deputy mayor of Wuhan as the village executive officer. Whereafter an Operation and Management Committee has been set up, under the leadership of related administrations of Jiangxia district at majority, directly under the Wuhan municipal and the executive committee, which has professional and highly qualified team members.

In press conference, Zhang Li, governor of Jiangxia district, said that a leading team for the village preparation had been set up in Jiangxia district before starting of preparation works. On August 28th, the Operation and Management Committee was established. The committee consists of one office and eight centers, including the village committee office, administrative center, human resources center, service center, catering center, residential center, security and traffic control center, logistics center and building-needs center.

As for the future use of the venues after the Military World Games, partial buildings of the village will be rebuilt and reused. The apartments that are based on the design of commercial residential quarters will be sold to residents. The offices district, according to the design of educational facilities program, will serve as teaching labs for kindergartens, Huangjia lake primary and secondary schools and other related manufactures.
