From April 10th to 14th, 2019, the first test event for the 7th Military World Games and 2019 U17 China International Wrestling Championships was held at Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering in Hubei province. During four-day championships, 615 athletes from 45 teams won 10 prizes in each competition consisting of men's freestyle wrestling, men's Greco-Roman wrestling and women's freestyle wrestling.

The test event was hosted by Weightlifting, Wrestling and Judo Management Center of General Administration of Sport of China and Chinese Wrestling Association. Li Tiezhong, the deputy director of Chinese Wrestling Association, said,“ 2019 U17 China International Wrestling Championships has attracted the largest number of participants than ever before. The reason why Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering being chosen to host this event is that we hope to provide a better environment and higher starting point for athletes with the opportunity of the 7th Military World Games.”
Ma Feng, the executive director of the 7th Military World Games Wrestling Championships Committee and president of Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering, said that through this test event, the college hoped to give valuable experience to the wrestling championships in Wuhan Military World Games by finishing full coverage, elements and processes of wrestling tests.
In October, 2019, the 7th CISM Military World Games will be run in Wuhan, Hubei province. In order to getting the organization and venue operations into the mood of the actual test, a total of 38 test events will be conducted by Wuhan Military World Games from April to September. After this test event, another 37 events will be held next.
