Lin Dan advanced to second round at Badminton Asia Championships

On April 24th, 2019 Badminton Asia Championships kicked off its second day competitions at the Wuhan Sport Center in Wuhan, Hubei province.

In men's singles, the Chinese players Lin Dan, Chen Long, Shi Yuqi and Lu Guangzu won two consecutive games. Crowned as the treble winner of the Championships, Lin Dan competed with Lu Chia Hung from Chinese Taipei, which became the most attractive competition during the games. Lin Dan defended his opponent by using feint actions and finally advanced to the second round with the score of 2-0.

In women's singles, the Chinese player Chen Yufei competed against Thi Trang (B) VU from Vietnam. In the first round, Chen Yufei found her opponent's mistakes and won at an overwhelming score of 8-0. Then Chen scored by drop shots for many times and successfully won the game.

In women's doubles, Chinese players Dong Wenjing/ Feng Xueying defended Japanese players Ayaka Takahashi/ Misaki Matsutomo at 2-0. In another group, Chinese players Li Wenmei/ Zheng Yu won two consecutive games over their Indonesian opponents Greysia Polii/ Apriyani Rahayu. In addition, Du Yue/ Li Yinhui from Hubei province in China also successfully advanced to the next round.

Badminton Asia Championships is organized by Badminton Asia, aiming to reward the best badminton players in Asia. It is the fifth year for Wuhan to host Badminton Asia Championships.
