Big Data: The Face of Guiyang in the New Era

Before 2012, the top three cities in Chengdu, Chongqing, Yunnan, and Guiyang were marked by regional centers, financial centers, industrial centers, and tourism centers.

With the development of big data and the arrival of the high-speed rail era, Guiyang seized the strategic opportunity of China's national big data industry development, quickly accumulated huge industrial potential, rapidly improved the soft and hard power, and achieved the rapid development of the data economy, causing global attention.

Relevant data shows that there are currently more than 5,000 big data companies in Guiyang, covering big data cleaning and processing, analytical applications, finance, logistics, medical care, transportation, tourism, precision poverty alleviation and other fields, and the big data industry chain is becoming more and more abundant.

In 2018, the revenue of the main business of Guiyang Big Data Enterprise exceeded 100 billion yuan with an increase of 22.4%. The new kinetic energy represented by big data contributed 21% to the economic growth of Guiyang. The most direct data reflect is that Guiyang's GDP growth rate was 9.9% in 2018. This is the fifth consecutive year that Guiyang's GDP growth rate has outperformed all provincial capital cities in China.

What’s more, big data also attracts the attention of international friends. In May 2019, China's Big Data Industry Expo was held in Guiyang, attracting 448 exhibitors from 59 countries and regions. The world's top companies such as Google, Dell and Pivotal brought the latest products.

At the same time, China's Big Data Industry Expo 2019 set the guest of honor for the first time and Morocco was invited to be the guest of honor for the Expo 2019, which will show the results of the country's big data. From 2019, the Expo will invite a country to be the guest of honor.
