"Youth on the Silk Road" short video contest, organized by CRI Online of China Media Group, was officially launched on February 28. The contest calls for short video submissions focusing on stories of "Generation Z" (the young people born between 1995 and 2009) from countries and regions along the Silk Road.
Five submission categories, including "Innovation and Entrepreneurship", "Cooperation and Exchange", "City Development", "Olympic Spirit" and "Thumb-up for the Silk Road" have been set up. The aim is to tell the stories of the youth in the countries and regions along the Silk Road in pioneering undertakings, promoting China-foreign communication, witnessing the development of the Silk Road, passing on the spirit of sportsmanship, and finding innovative ways to applaud the Silk Road.
There are no requirements or limitations on the age, occupation, creating method, or the language of the participants. Participants are also allowed to submit their work to more than one category. The duration of all videos should be no longer than 5 minutes, and Chinese or English subtitles are required. Participants can submit their works by: through email by sending the video to youthsr@cri.cn; posting videos on Weibo by using the hashtag #Youth on the Silk Road# and tweet @中国城市榜 (Chinese City Ranking); posting videos on TikTok (Douyin), Xigua Video, or Bilibili by using the hashtag #Youth on the Silk Road#.
There will be one Grand Prize of CNY 30,000, one First Prize of CNY 20,000, two Second Prizes of CNY 10,000, three Third Prizes of CNY 5,000, and 10 Excellent Awards of CNY 2,000. In addition to the prize money and certificates, the winners will have the opportunity to participate in the award ceremony and the Silk Road Youth Forum to share their works. The winning works will be promoted at home and abroad through the multilingual and multi-terminal all media matrix of CRI Online.
