The 2022 Grain Rain Worshipping Ceremony of Cangjie Is Held in Baishui County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province

April 20 witnessed the holding of the 2022 Grain Rain Worshipping Ceremony of Cangjie. April 20, 2022 marked the sixth one of the 24 solar terms according to the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, and the 13th United Nations Chinese Language Day. On the day of Grain Rain every year, Baishui County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province holds the Grain Rain Worshipping Ceremony of Cangjie.

At the ceremony, 56 children and teenagers sang together the song "Write Good Chinese Characters and Be Good Chinese People", which showcased the sustainable and long-standing cultural heritage of the Chinese nation.

"The belief of 'Cangjie Inventing Chinese Characters' showcases the long history of the Chinese nation and the deepest cultural ties between Chinese people at home and abroad. Our annual 'Grain Rain Festival, Worshipping Cangjie' is not only a traditional Chinese event, but also a traditional grand ceremony to carry forward the fine traditional Chinese culture, enhance national cohesion, and deep the sense of belonging, identity and honor of Chinese people at home and abroad," noted Ren Zhigang, deputy director of the management committee of the Cangjie Temple scenic area in Baishui County, Weinan City.

With the continuous enhancement of China's comprehensive national strength, the "circle of friends" of the Chinese language continues to expand. The Chinese language has become a brilliant name card of the fine traditional Chinese culture which is going global, and a cultural window for the world to understand China. This event with "Worshipping Cangjie, Sharing Civilization" as the theme, aimed to promote the spirit of Cangjie at home and abroad, inherit relevant culture, enhance cultural confidence, and create China's "Holy Land of Chinese Characters and Travel Camp".
