Nanchong City in Sichuan Province has fertile land and mulberry trees everywhere. The Mother River of the city, Jialing River, has been feeding local people with its clear stream and helping build the city of silk. Nanchong Silk has been continuously transported to places faraway, which made Nanchong an important part of the Southern Silk Road. In 2005, Nanchong was awarded the title of "Silk Capital of China", and in 2016, the title of " The Source of Silk" by China Silk Association. Silk has become the historical memory and cultural background of Nanchong.
