Amazing Decade: Beautiful Moments of Yuncheng

Looking back at the development of Yuncheng over the last decade, the ancient Hedong region has been changing day by day. This city, which was born by the Yellow River and has flourished because of it, has made a series of remarkable achievements by insisting on reform to stimulate vitality, opening up to form its own advantages, and accelerating transformation through innovation. Yuncheng, which once solely relied on agriculture, is telling its stories of development to the whole world.

On March 28, 2013, the "Cross-Strait Guan Yu Cultural Festival – A Tour of the Statue of Guan Yu" was launched in Yuncheng. The statue of Guan Yu was displayed for the first time in Taiwan Province.

On July 1, 2014, Yuncheng North Railway Station was put into operation, marking the start of the high-speed era of Yuncheng.

On June 2, 2015, a total of 20.2 tons of apples from Yuncheng departed to the United States with a long and clear sound of a steam whistle, marking the first time that the "Chinese Red" apples entered the U.S. market.

In 2016, the annual sales of heavy trucks increased by more than 80 percent year-on-year, and the sales of tractors increased by more than 100 percent year-on-year, both of which exceeded the average of the industry. Nowadays, Dayun Auto has become one of the leading representatives of China's private manufacturers of heavy trucks.

On August 31, 2017, the closure of the right side of the supplementary part of the Yuncheng-Lingbao Yellow River Bridge, as part of the expressway connecting Yuncheng in Shanxi Province to Lingbao in Henan Province, was successfully completed. The future of Yuncheng will be better as the traffic gets more convenient.

In 2017, CRRC Yongji Electric Co., Ltd. received an order for 30 motors for the export of tunnel boring machines (TBM) from China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. This is the first overseas order since CRRC Yongji Electric Co., Ltd. entered the industry of TBM manufacturing.

In 2018, the first "Five Small Enterprises" (Brilliant Stars) Industrial Products Expo was successfully held in Yuncheng.

On March 28, 2019, the opening ceremony of the torch collection of the Second National Youth Games and the games' online torch relay was held at the Xihoudu site in Ruicheng County.

On September 30, 2020, the exploitation of Yuncheng Salt Lake known as the "Dead Sea of China" ended 4,600 years after its start. Today, a world-class tourism culture and wellness platform integrating experiences of salt culture, ecological leisure, and health and wellness is presented to the world.

In October 2021, the Sixth Shanxi (Yuncheng) International Fruit Trade Expo was held in Yuncheng's Wanrong County.

From September 21 to 23, 2022, the Eighth Tourism Development Conference of Shanxi Province and the 33rd Guan Yu Cultural Tourism Festival were held in Yuncheng. The local government took both events as opportunities to enhance the local tourism image and make Yuncheng a renowned cultural tourism destination.
