Xi'an National Civil Aerospace Industrial Base Continuously Improves the Public Safety System and Strengthens the Masses' Awareness of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation

Xi'an National Civil Aerospace Industrial Base has made strides in public safety in recent years by continuously improving its disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities. It has proactively taken measures to prepare for potential disasters and handle emergencies, shifting from passive defense to proactive action. It has established comprehensive disaster mitigation demonstration communities and focused on enhancing its organizational structure, improving systems and plans, identifying risks and safety hazards, conducting daily publicity, education, and training, and enhancing disaster mitigation ability to prevent disasters. Moreover, it has prioritized six aspects, namely enhancing organization and leadership, strengthening training and learning, completing systems and standards, encouraging collaboration, focusing on demonstration and driving, and strengthening assessment and supervision. These practical actions have been instrumental in establishing comprehensive demonstration communities for disaster prevention and mitigation.

The community at Gaowang Road of the aerospace industrial base has taken noteworthy measures to enhance public awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation, with a view to conscientiously establishing a comprehensive demonstration community. The community has organized residents to actively participate in the special training courses on comprehensive disaster prevention and mitigation held in Xi'an as well as Shaanxi and visit other districts, counties, and development zones to study and observe the practices in setting up a demonstration community. The community has also sought guidance from experts specializing in disaster prevention and mitigation. Thus, the community has gained clarity on carrying out specific tasks. Furthermore, community staff members can gain certain experience in building an organizational structure for handling disasters and risks, carrying out emergency training, and making their disaster prevention and mitigation operations orderly.

The community has been actively strengthening cooperation with units under its jurisdiction. Through a collaborative working mechanism, both sides are able to share resources and leverage each other's advantages, providing mutual support in the tasks related to disaster prevention and mitigation. Thus, they can enhance disaster prevention and mitigation within the community and upgrade the infrastructure and capabilities of the community to prevent and mitigate disasters.
