Integration Advancement of Xi'an and Xianyang Speeds Up

"From April 1, 2023, residents in Xianyang and Xi'an will be entitled to the same discounts and preferential measures when using their bus cards. This move will enable citizens to more easily enjoy the benefits of the two cities' integration achievements, which have been widely praised by the public," said Xia Xiaozhong, Secretary of the CPC Xianyang Municipal Committee during the press conference. Xia cited examples of convenient services twice that people have already enjoyed, including the joint utilization of bus cards in the two cities. These thoughtful measures have played a significant role in enhancing residents' understanding of the ongoing integration efforts between Xi'an and Xianyang.

During the third session of the press conference themed "Implementing the Guiding Principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and Promoting the Activity Series for the Year of Study, Actions, and Services to Foster New High-quality Development in Shaanxi" held on April 25, Xia Xiaozhong introduced that Xianyang has planned to carry out ten demonstration projects and expedite the city renovation and upgrade in four major directions. The city aims to conduct a smooth reconstruction and expansion of the Xixing Expressway (Xianyang-Xingping), and complete and open the third phase of Xi'an Metro Line 1 by the end of September. Besides, the bridge crossing Weihe River, located in Xianyang High-tech Zone, is to be completed and put into operation by the end of June. Moreover, Xianyang is committed to providing small yet significant benefits to its residents, such as uniform bus card services in both Xianyang and Xi'an. With many government services being executed across city lines, residents have gained an enhanced appreciation of the integration between these two cities.

In 2023, Xianyang strives to make greater achievements and breakthroughs based on the efficient mechanism, solid foundation, and good development environment formed in 2022. The city is committed to enhancing cooperation efforts and providing more support for projects, while also prioritizing efficient urban construction. Furthermore, the city will pursue collaboration between development and ecological governance, and provide residents with better public services. By accelerating integration with Xi'an, Xianyang will continue to drive high-quality development and progress in the region.
