The First Environmentally Friendly Town of Malleable Cast Iron Settles in Taigu District of Shanxi Province in China

Recently, the promotion conference of Taigu Malleable Cast Iron and the launching ceremony of the first environmentally friendly town of malleable cast iron in China were held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin). Six projects were signed on site, with a total investment of CNY 7.1 billion, involving equipment manufacturing, digital intelligence, foreign trade and other fields. 

At the promotion conference, the logo of "Taigu Casting" of the Specialized Town of Malleable Cast Iron of Taigu has been officially launched. The logo selects the initials of "Tai" and "Gu", i.e., "T" and "G", to form a road reaching the whole globe.

The Specialized Town of Malleable Cast Iron of Taigu was selected as one of the first batch of the top ten characteristic towns in Shanxi Province in 2022, which has gathered 112 casting enterprises, 30,000 employees, and indirectly providing 100,000 employment opportunities. From traditional cast iron pipe fittings to cast steel and cast iron for automobiles and high speed trains, from cast aluminum and cast magnesium alloy parts for aerospace products to stainless steel welding parts for nuclear power, the Specialized Town in Taigu occupies a large share of the market. There are 3,000 sales outlets of Taigu malleable cast iron in China, and the products have been promoted to more than 40 countries and regions, including Europe, America, Middle East and Southeast Asia. Nowadays, it is boasted that malleable cast irons from Taigu outperform others among China and malleable cast irons from China outperform others worldwide.

The environmentally friendly town of malleable cast iron in Taigu will focus on "green" and "intelligence", increasing the investment for R&D talents and building an environmentally friendly high-end intelligent manufacturing industry base with international influence. In 2023, the Specialized Town in Taigu will build an environmentally friendly factory at national level and two enterprises with A-rated in environmental performance evaluation, with the utilization rate of solid foundry waste over 20 percent.
