Capacity Expansion and Reconstruction of 750kV Qianxian Substation in Shaanxi Successfully Completed

The renovation project for the 750 kV circuit breaker and its related secondary equipment at Qianxian Substation in Shaanxi Province was successfully completed and put into operation on May 16, providing a robust guarantee for the safe, reliable, and sustainable use of electricity during the summer peak period.

The Qianxian Substation, operating at 750 kV, is the first of its kind in Shaanxi Province. As a crucial pivot point within the main grid structure of Shaanxi's 750 kV power network, it serves as a vital hub for transmitting significant amounts of hydropower, thermal energy, and wind power from northwest China to other regions. Its construction plays an integral role in accelerating Shaanxi's development into an energy chemical base while simultaneously promoting economic growth through enhanced power transmission capabilities.

It is reported that the Qianxian Substation reconstruction project was initiated in September 2022, encompassing the expansion and renovation of 16 sets of 750 kV circuit breakers and 46 groups of disconnectors, alongside the maintenance of 177 sets of equipment and automation device upgrades.

The project is a crucial initiative launched by State Grid Shaanxi Electric Power Company Limited to meet the peak summer power supply demands. Upon completion, the project will significantly enhance the equipment operation and power supply capacity of the substation, playing a vital role in ensuring social electricity consumption in Shaanxi, promoting new energy consumption, enhancing transmission capacity and facilitating high-quality development of Shaanxi Power Grid. Additionally, it will offer greater assurances for Shaanxi Power Grid to meet the peak summer power supply demands.
