On August 26, the 'Hello, Shenyang' — 2023 "Together on Belt and Road" Overseas Journalists' Trip to Shenyang, sponsored by the Information Office of Shenyang Municipal People's Government, kicked off under the organization of the CRI Online of China Media Group.

Shenyang invited over ten journalists from various countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Pakistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Romania, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkmenistan, and Greece. The invitation aimed to provide them with firsthand experiences of the city's recent changes, explore emerging opportunities, and foster mutual development. Thus, it helped deepen their understanding of Shenyang and presented a comprehensive image of the city's international features.

Liu Chi, Vice President of the CRI Online of China Media Group addressed the event. Liu Zhuangye, Deputy Director responsible for the daily work of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee, delivered a speech, comprehensively introducing sectors covering history, industry, opening-up achievements, and tourism of Shenyang to overseas journalists.

Mai Ashour, an Egyptian writer, translator, and contributing writer said it was her first trip to Shenyang. "I look forward to exploring the excellent moments of the city during my trip and creating impressive memories," said Mai Ashour.

"I visited Shenyang in 1981. I still remember that Shenyang was an industrial city at that time even after the passage of 42 years. I hope this event can allow us to explore the city's advancements and changes over the past 42 years," said Ioan Budura, Former Editor-in-Chief of the Department of Culture, Radio Romania and Sinologist.

Since 2019, the Information Office of Shenyang Municipal People's Government collaborated with the CRI Online of China Media Group to organize a range of events centered around "Together on Belt and Road". These events extended invitations to over 60 overseas journalists, photographers, and internet celebrities, facilitating their visits to Shenyang through both physical and virtual means. Notably, over 150 articles in foreign languages were released and more than 500 overseas media outlets featured coverage and information on these events.
