2023 China (Xixia) Kiwifruit Harvest Festival and Investment Promotion Conference Held

On October 10, 2023 China (Xixia) Kiwifruit Harvest Festival and Investment Promotion Conference was held in Xixia County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. At the opening ceremony, Xixia County was awarded the title of the "Ecological Capital of Golden Kiwifruit in China", and the Xixia kiwifruit brand, known as "Sunshine Golden Kiwifruit of Chinese People", was unveiled. On the same day, trucks loaded with 50 tons of high-quality Xixia kiwifruit set off for Zhengzhou, Shanghai and other places.

Xixia County boasts abundant kiwifruit resources and is one of the earliest regions in China to engage in kiwifruit research and cultivation. After over 40 years of development, the Xixia kiwifruit industry has become a leading sector for rural economic growth, contributing to increased income for more than 80,000 residents, embarking on a path of sustainable development through the positive interaction between ecological improvement and economic growth.

Currently, Xixia County has more than 400,000 mu of wild kiwifruit, and has built artificial bases of 145,000 mu, with 85,000 mu of fruit-bearing area. The annual output of kiwifruit is 80,000 tons with an output value of CNY 800 million. There are over 80 specialized villages and more than 10 kiwifruit production and processing enterprises. Their products, including fruit juice and fruit slices, encompass more than 30 varieties across eight major series and are sold in over 40 major cities in China, with an annual comprehensive production value exceeding CNY 2.3 billion.

Xixia County has been designated as the "National Kiwifruit Standardization Demonstration County" and "National Quality Kiwifruit Production Base County". Xixia kiwifruit is one of the protected geographical indication products and a Protected Eco-origin Product as well.
