On November 24, State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company successfully conducted a simulation test on the distribution of distributed energy and charging load access to the distribution network, using the 10 kV Changxin Line in Xinwu District, Wuxi, Jiangsu as the simulation object. This marks the official completion and operation of an integrated simulation platform for marketing, distribution, dispatching and planning adapted to county-level companies.
Due to the rapid development of new sources and loads, traditional distribution network planning can no longer meet the development needs of Xinwu District, Wuxi. To predict the impact of planning projects on the power grid in advance and formulate optimal solutions accurately, in early April 2023, State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company initiated the pilot project for the research and application of key technologies in the integration of marketing, distribution, dispatching and planning in Xinwu District. The platform was officially put into use in November.
Unlike the past reliance on experience and rough calculations, this simulation platform aggregates operational data of the distribution network in Xinwu District and the energy consumption patterns of users in the district. With power grid load flow calculation technology at its core, it can analyze complex scenarios under different operating conditions of the power grid, simulating and predicting its operational state.
In the next phase, Wuxi Power Supply Company will leverage this platform to carry out various functional analysis and applications, improving the utilization efficiency of distribution equipment and energy allocation. The goal is to enhance the carrying capacity and controllability of distributed energy access, exploring a high-quality development path for the construction of a new type of power system at the county level.
