2024 'Belt and Road' International Training Course on the Application and Progress of Digital Intelligence in Spine Surgery Kicks Off

Recently, the 2024 "Belt and Road" International Training Course on the Application and Progress of Digital Intelligence in Spine Surgery kicked off at Xi'an Honghui Hospital. The opening ceremony was attended by 18 trainees from nine developing countries, together with spine surgeons. The event aims to promote international exchange and cooperation in the field of digital and intelligent medicine, jointly advancing the innovation and development of spine surgery technology.

Professor Hao Dingjun, Chief Expert and President of Spine Surgery Hospital at Xi'an Honghui Hospital, highlighted three main features of this event: a select group of trainees, high level, and rich content. The 15-day training course covers cutting-edge technologies such as digital intelligence, 3D printing, navigation, robotics, spinal endoscopy, and spinal microscopy. Through various teaching methods such as theoretical lectures, simulation operations, surgical demonstrations, and special seminars, the course provides a comprehensive, multi-dimensional learning platform for trainees from China and beyond.

On the morning of the opening day, Xi'an Honghui Hospital conducted a pre-training session for foreign trainees. Huang Dageng, Director of Science and Education Department, introduced Xi'an Honghui Hospital and the precautions for the training period. Shan Lequn, Head of Spinal Degeneration and Oncology Department, outlined the training course project, the Spine Surgery Hospital, and the daily course schedule. The hospital also organized visits to the North Campus and the operating room for the trainees.

Additionally, to ensure the effectiveness of the training, the hospital invited authoritative experts in digital intelligence-driven spine surgery from both within the province and across the country. These specialists possess international-level expertise in academia, technology, and clinical practice.

With the advancement of globalization and the Belt and Road Initiative, international cooperation and exchange in the medical field are becoming increasingly frequent.
