From September 19 to 30, Jiangxi Province conducted its first market-based pilot test of "Virtual Power Plant + Vehicle-Grid Interaction" at the Honggutan V2G Super Charging Demonstration Station of State Grid Jiangxi Electric Power Co., Ltd. The activity invited participation from private new energy vehicle owners via the Smart and Shared Power Saving mini-program and integrated the station's energy storage facilities to explore a new "vehicle-grid-storage" interaction model, providing technical support for peak shaving and power supply security in the provincial grid.

A virtual power plant is an intelligent energy management system that aggregates distributed power sources, energy storage, electric vehicles, and other resources to participate in grid operations. Vehicle-grid interaction is a typical application, enabling new energy vehicles to serve as "mobile power banks" that can charge during off-peak hours and discharge during peak demand.

This test featured three main application scenarios: during the daily evening peak from 17:00 to 23:00, private vehicles and company fleet vehicles discharged power back to the grid; charging pile power was remotely adjusted to guide orderly and intelligent vehicle charging; and the station's energy storage units carried out two daily charge-discharge cycles, coordinated with the vehicles.

To encourage participation, a subsidy of 3 yuan was offered for every kilowatt-hour discharged back to the grid, with the top 30 vehicle owners by total discharge volume receiving additional charging coupons.

"This is an important practice in implementing the national 'Dual Carbon' strategy and advancing the construction of a new power system," said Liu Chao, Director of the Marketing Department at State Grid Jiangxi Electric Power. He noted that this initiative marked the first market-based dispatch application of "new energy vehicles + energy storage" within a virtual power plant framework in Jiangxi, demonstrating the large-scale potential of vehicle-grid interaction technology and providing valuable experience for building a green and low-carbon energy ecosystem.
