Fragrant Zongzi and Dragon Boat Races: Neighborhood Culture Festival Kicks off in Yingpu Subdistrict, Qingpu District, Shanghai

As the scent of zongzi leaves filled the air and dragon boats raced through the water, the opening ceremony of the Yingpu Subdistrict Neighborhood Culture Festival—along with the 12th Community Dragon Boat Race and the Employee Wellness Carnival—was held on the afternoon of May 31 at Shuichengmen along the Huan Cheng Waterway in Shanghai's Qingpu District.

As part of the subdistrict's signature "One Street, One Brand" initiative, the festival centers around dragon boating and seamlessly integrates folk customs and intangible cultural heritage displays. It promotes the coordinated growth of culture, tourism, business, sports, exhibitions, and agriculture, attracting over ten thousand local residents and international guests to this vibrant Dragon Boat Festival celebration. The event offers a vivid snapshot of how traditional culture blends with modern life.
