Nanyang, Henan: Free Gaokao Counseling Session Supports Village Students

In a heartwarming initiative, Dongping Village in Nanyang’s Nanzhao County, a village receiving targeted assistance from State Grid Henan Electric Power Company, recently hosted a free Gaokao counseling session. The event assisted over 10 local students and parents with university application strategies, addressing their most pressing concerns and winning wide acclaim from villagers.

Wei Qiuhui, the Company’s First Secretary stationed in Dongping Village, learned during visits that more than a dozen students had taken the 2025 Gaokao (National College Entrance Exam). Mobilizing cross-sector support, Wei invited Gaokao registration specialists from the Higher Education Examinations Authority of Henan Province and Nanyang City to explain policies and provide application guidance, aiming to “set students’ academic dreams in motion from the village.”

Two experts thoroughly explained the latest Gaokao policies to keep parents and students updated, meticulously analyzed historical admission cut-off scores and trends to provide scientific application strategies. During the Q&A session, they patiently addressed all queries and offered personalized guidance on choosing majors. This included helping students identify their interests, strengths, personalities, and potential, while recommending optimal academic paths aligned with industry trends and employment prospects.

Moving forward, the Company’s personnel stationed in Dongping Village will continue prioritizing villagers’ needs to deliver more precise, higher-quality services, thereby supporting local talent development through concrete actions.
