Xuchang, Henan: Energy Efficiency Diagnostics Help Enterprises Cut Costs and Improve Efficiency

“Thanks to your suggestions on electricity billing, we’ve saved a lot on our electricity costs. Thank you so much!" On June 25, the head of Xuchang Tenghe Wood Industry Co., Ltd. repeatedly expressed gratitude to Yan Yibo and Cheng Xiangyong from the Mafang Power Supply Station under the State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company, who provided on-site energy efficiency diagnostics.

Xuchang Tenghe Wood Industry Co., Ltd., which specializes in wood processing and artificial board manufacturing, has a transformer capacity of 315 kVA and a monthly electricity consumption of nearly 90,000 kWh. To help the enterprise reduce production costs, Yan and Cheng collected data on the company’s main energy-consuming equipment, compiled an energy efficiency diagnostic report, and recommended switching from actual maximum demand billing to capacity-based billing. Following the adjustment, the enterprise now saves nearly 10,000 yuan in basic electricity charges each month.

Since 2025, the Mafang Power Supply Station has been offering energy efficiency diagnostics to key enterprises and major clients in the area, tailoring energy-saving solutions to individual needs. It has guided clients in optimizing transformer usage and rationally adjusting their basic electricity charge billing methods. The station has also issued Proposals for Reducing Electricity Costs, encouraging clients to implement energy-saving upgrades and alternative energy measures, while actively promoting electricity pricing policies to help enterprises cut costs, improve efficiency, and achieve energy conservation and carbon reduction goals.

To date, the Mafang Power Supply Station has conducted energy efficiency diagnostics for 35 key enterprises, helping clients cut electricity costs by over 400,000 yuan in total. Going forward, the State Grid Xuchang Power Supply Company will continue innovating and optimizing new methods and approaches in energy efficiency diagnostics, promoting green transformation and sustainable development among enterprises.
