The scorching summer has arrived with gradually rising temperatures. In Quzhou, Zhejiang Province, State Grid Quzhou Power Supply Company has initiated its power supply plan for summer peak hours to beat the extreme heat. Through comprehensive deployment and concrete actions, the company has taken sound measures to ensure stable grid operation, guaranteeing uninterrupted power supply and coolness for households.
On June 30, in Cuntou Town, maintenance workers from the company inspected equipment at the 35-kilovolt Cuntou Substation, with a focus on relay protection checks. They conducted follow-up measurements on the previously identified overheating points to ensure normal operation.
Earlier, the company proactively planned and coordinated efforts to execute substation maintenance, line inspections, infrared temperature measurements, and capacity expansions of distribution transformers. It strengthened grid safety through coordinated "manual and smart" approaches, enhanced efficiency via "technical and manual" safeguards, and ensured uninterrupted supply through integrated "inspections and live-line work". Live-line workers, wearing heavy insulation gear, performed precise operations from insulated aerial lifts, eliminating hazards with "zero user awareness and zero power impact". The company's disciplinary committee conducted procedural supervision to ensure thorough inspections.
Grid equipment health is the foundation of reliable supply, and substations are the keys to a city's power supply. Zou Xuan, an employee of State Grid Kaihua County Power Supply Company, said, "Since the early spring this year, guided by the three-year initiative for fundamental improvements in production safety, we have conducted comprehensive inspections of all substations managed by the company. For the long-operating 35-kilovolt Dushan Substation and 110-kilovolt Kaihua Substation, we have completed upgrades of switchgears and full-station protection system, and comprehensive maintenance." Currently, substations managed by the company are undergoing a new round of non-outage maintenance for equipment renewal, technological upgrades, and capacity expansion, to make sure that these revitalized "power hearts" will deliver robust performance to safeguard public comfort this summer.
