2025 Fuchun River Fishing Season Kicks Off

Recently, the 2025 Fuchun River fishing season kicked off. Themed "Charming Tonglu – The Premier City for River Delicacies" , the activity blends eco-tourism with the local fishing economy. The event offered residents and visitors a vibrant "fishing +" summer carnival.

On the opening morning, a fleet of state-owned inland fishing boats sounded their horns and set off in unison, marking the start of a new fishing season.

At the event, a promotional video, "Charming Tonglu – The Premier City for River Delicacies", was officially unveiled, vividly showcasing Tonglu's entire industry chain of river delicacies from catch to table. To ensure premium river delicacies directly reach consumers, fishing companies signed purchase and sale agreements with representatives from ten renowned fresh river  restaurants, benefiting all parties involved.

The event also featured an immersive "The Premier City for River Delicacies"-themed fish market. At Dongmen Wharf, a morning market offered fresh catches direct from the river, while Lotus Square came alive with interactive activities including intangible cultural heritage displays, fishing net weaving, and river delicacy showcases.

Tonglu is demonstrating remarkable success in balancing ecological conservation with economic growth. In 2024, CNY 615,000 in stock enhancement funds were transformed into 10.7691 million fish fry, released back into the Fuchun River. In 2025, over 20 million more are expected to swim into its clear waters.
