State Grid Shaanxi Enhances Power Safety Measures During Peak Summer Heat

As the summer peak load period reaches a critical stage, State Grid Shaanxi Electric Power is ramping up efforts to ensure reliable power supply. In terms of load management, the company is strengthening supply-demand forecasting and maximizing flexible load resources. For equipment operation and maintenance, inspections have been intensified, with maintenance staff using infrared thermography, drones, and other smart technologies to monitor substations and power lines.

Local power supply companies are adopting innovative work models such as live-line and bypass operations to ensure zero impact on customers. In Weinan and Baoji, crews are carrying out live-line replacements of switches and fuses under extreme heat. In Xi’an, workers have launched a fast-track program to increase power capacity in older residential communities by completing transformer upgrades.
