Shanghai: Metamorphosis of Suzhou Creek

Nature bears witness to change, and time reveals the truth. Over the past two decades, from overcoming ecological challenges to pioneering green innovation, the wisdom of "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" has shone brightly in practices across the land.  

Hu Ge, an actor who grew up in Shanghai's longtang (neighborhood lanes), witnessed Suzhou Creek's evolution from an industrial rust belt to an urban green corridor. Today, along its banks, old warehouses have become art galleries, the river breeze carries the aroma of coffee, and the stories of Shikumen ripple through the shimmering waters.
